C2AGE! (and other cosplay tales)

Suprise suprise! It's procrastination again! :D

Pass few Saturdays, I've been up and about. So, first thing to report on: C2AGE! Yes, it was two weeks ago, but it's never too late, right? 17 July, I followed a few friends to Tropicana Mall for the event! I didn't want to overdo Mia too much, so I decided to go as Seychelles from Hetalia!

Which reminds me! The day before C2AGE, I was worried that I'd be empty-handed with lack of poses, just like back in Comic Fiesta. I was bugging everyone in school, asking "Do you have a fish plushie?".

Seychelles and Tuna-chan!

In the end, Jeremiah, who was supposed to lend me his pink fish, couldn't find it. So the day before C2AGE, I started SEWING. Oh, I'm sooooo glad I have my sewing machine!

My workplace and the laptop!(for distraction reference)

Cutting up the cloth~

Completed body!

Tuna lieks cotton

Now for the tail! (this set were too small)

COMPLETE!

Kristy loves Tuna-chan too :3

And that, took me the whooole night. owo Decided not to put the other fins because I'm lazy it looks cuter that way! I sewed on the eyes the morning itself because I was too tired after finishing the whole thing. Haha.

Back to C2AGE, it was a pretty small event, but it was still fun to see the cosplayers and take pictures and other stuff. ^^ I'll let the pictures tell you the story!

Sephiroth battles it out with the Shinigami! omg masamune

FAAAAAANG. Why is there a Fang with a spear? D: All the Fangs everywhere has spear. I ish intimidated.

FINAL FANTASY XIII! CID RAINES! omgomgepiiiic :3

The Hetalia gang! (there were more of us :3)

We went for lunch after awhile. Jun Ee brought us Ninja Joe! omg heaaaven! The banner in front of the shop writes. "Pork burger. (yes, really)" OMG so delicioussss!

HEAVEEEEEN

After we went back to the event area, I joined in the Cosplay Checkers! They have two groups, and all the checker pieces are cosplayers! My Tuna epic pwned. I killed 3 people and became queen!

Cosplay Checkers!

Group picture~ Right before the Cosplay Checkers competition

TUNA PWNAGE! (I call it King Tuna xD)

After getting killed by Nel Tu in the second round of Cosplay Checkers, I went home. :X I'm sooo glad I made my Tuna! At least I had something to hold when posing for the camera rather than standing without any particular pose available to me. I love my Tuna-chan so much it has now replaced Calcium Oxide as my favourite "plushie" and my sleeping partner! (no wrong ideas!)

Since I pretty much photobombed this blogpost, the plan of concise-ing all the Saturday events this July has failed. Therefore, I shall tell you more about my cosplay stuff! 8D

Remember the super long post about my cosplay plans? Well, I've added another one to the list!

Lucas [Pokemon Platinum]

POKEMOOOON!!! Me, Anthea and Nurul are on a Pokemon craze now. :D (me and Nurul managed to get Anthea to play Platinum, teehee!) I suggested long time ago that Anthea should do Dawn, and now she likes that idea. :D Nurul wants to do Cynthia, so I -have- to follow the Pokemon Platinum trend (it's not an obligation, but I don't want to be sesat, right?). So I shall be the male player of Pokemon Platinum, Lucas!

Another one added to my growing list of group cosplays with Nurul and Anthea. :3
1. Ace Attorney (Mia Fey)
2. Final Fantasy XIII (Oerba Yun Fang)
3. Full Metal Alchemist (Izumi Curtis) (but if Nurul does Cynthia, I can lend her wig and do Olivier, muahaha)
4. Pokemon (Lucas)
Three plans already for 2011!

Lastly, I FINALLY GOT MY ORANGE WIG!!! Woohoooo! Melissa's been keeping it for me for awhile. It's so bright and silky! And intimidating... owo My first long wig! It's hard just to think how to wear it and keep it, lawl.

*beep*

I bet you're laughing at the picture now. 8D It's not that I look ugly, but my eyebrows looked funny with the wig since the bangs were long, so I -had- to censor it or I'll crai posting it up. xD But I really really love the wig. :3

WOOHOOO! More blog posts coming up. :3

Blast from the Past

I had a pretty crappy week the week before last week, and a bad start last week. Wanted to blog about it but then things look brighter so the potential emo post has left with the wind! Instead, I shall share something I did during that pretty emo period.

You see, I'm a sentimental person and I keep all sorts of crap from people or places that I found meaningful. By crap, it can include cards, notes, used tissues, sticks(seriously) and other stuff! In attempt to cheer myself up and remind myself of the great days I once had in the past, I dug out everything I had in my "sentimental drawer" and started reading and taking pictures of them.

My "sentimental drawer"!

My birthday present from way back when from my elder brother!

My 13th birthday present from Anthea, Zoe, Siew Yen and Jian Mei! Epic lawl. xD On a side note, I've been collecting can tabs since I was 8. :X

Birthday cards and stuff from my 14th birthday in 2007!  One of the sweetest times of my life. ;__;

TRU camp 2007!

Random Koperasi stuff. My acceptance letter into Koperasi! :3

Koperasi Camp stuffs! Strepsils were from Rayhan because I fell sick shouting for two days

The stick(see? seriously!) from Reuben and birthday card+flower from 16th birthday xD

TDCX 2008! I have marny~

TDCXI 2009, Metamorphosis!

TDCXII 2010, Take Two! (I haven't blogged about it yet, have I... :X)

Code Geass keychains from my really close epic hax Ragnarok Online friend, Kang!

You know how in primary school, people would keep these "memory books" (in Chinese, "Ji Nian Che") and make everyone they know write their personal details and some other extra words. I had two of those, but lost my bigger one with more writings in it. =( So I was looking through my really old one and guess what I found?

Written by Ai Vee. Note the second last line! Odd how life runs eh?

So yeah, that was most of the stuff I dug up. Those who know me well can easily guess that I had cried while looking through all these stuff. Hey, I'm an emotional person and I'm not afraid to show it. :3

Gonna blog about some cosplay stuff and C2AGE after I figure out my darn Add Maths project! .__.

Rest in Peace

Cancer has claimed another life close to me. My uncle's wife passed away peacefully Friday evening from a relapse after her chemotherapy a year ago.

That's the fifth one for me this year. Life is fragile. Treasure it!

Cosplay Plans!

So I'm finally here! Finally blogging about my future cosplay plans!

2010 may be SPM year, but cosplay is something really close to my heart, and I really don't want to not make a new outfit this year. Although my mum insists that I shouldn't, I insist I must! I've got a few pretty confirmed plans already. :3

1. Leena [Chrono Cross]

My number 1 must do cosplay! Chrono Cross is one of my favourite RPGs for the PS and it's the sequel to the super successful Chrono Trigger. Square is loveeee. Leena's dubbed the "Sweet Country Gal", and is the main character's childhood friend. Ever since Mia Fey, I have this kick to cosplay rare/less popular characters for the love of the series. And just like Mia Fey, I LOVE Chrono Cross. I figured I would NEVER pull off Kid, and the other girl characters in consideration were too awesome, namely Orlha, and I dunno what guy to crossplay, and they had lots of armour. So I go with Leena! (who is now one of the stronger characters in my latest replay of the game :3) Besides, she has orange hair, and orange hair is good for Orihime, who I really like! I'm not expecting many to know what character this is, but hey, there are 45 playable characters in Chrono Cross after all. And I'll make them know with a blow from my rainbow frying pan. =B

2. Sohma Kagura [Fruits Basket]

Fruits Basket is a manga I really really adore. The storyline is super sweet! And the best way to show affection is to cosplay the series! I reckoned I wouldn't fit Tohru's part well, and that the boys from the Sohma family were too cute and gorgeous. Kagura has a thing for Kyo (and so do I!), and she gets real mean when she's mad (me too!), so I figured it'd be awesome to cosplay Kagura! :D Her default green dress is pretty plain (it's nice though), and the hard part would be the boots, so I picked her uniform version instead. It'll go better with the rest of the cast who are wearing the uniforms too. If possible, I would really really want to do both Leena and Kagura for Comic Fiesta 2010.

Those are my two current plans. And I shall present to you my "I think I want to do this but I don't know if I should" plans!

1. Maya Fey [Ace Attorney]

This isn't really a choice. It's a MUST! The Maya Fey costume worn by Jasmine is actually shared between both of us. This cosplay will definitely be in the future, I just don't know when as I need to wait for Jasmine to finish enjoying the costume before I readjust it for myself.

2. Soul Linker [Ragnarok Online]

I don't care how, but I MUST do this one day. One day I will, I just don't know when. xD I absolutely love Ragnarok Online, and Soul Linker is one of my favourite jobs. They are really fun to play, and they are under appreciated! I must cosplay RO one day, and the Soul Linker outfit is awesome (without armour or having to bare her belly!), therefore I shall. :D It'll be really cool to cosplay Soul Linker, the details on the costume is just loveee.

3. Arch Bishop [Ragnarok Online]

I originally wanted to cosplay Arch Bishop as I'm really got at playing the Priest job in RO, and it was kinda to celebrate the 3rd jobs. And the costume is so pretty! But then there are already lots of people doing the Arch Bishop out there, and one in Malaysia already! ;__; Soul Linker's a definitely, but Arch Bishop we'll see.

4. Jack Russel or Ridley Silverlake [Radiata Stories]

I really want to crossplay, but I can't find the suitable male character I can pull off. So while thinking along the lines of games I really love, this loud, kicking (literally) hero from Radiata Stories came into mind. Jack would be fun to cosplay as he's really funny and loud like me. It'd be great to make a tribute to Radiata Stories, and also to stay in character by kicking stuff... and people. :3 In the case where I could convince a guy to do Jack with me, I'll do Ridley, because she's strong and has blonde hair. I want to get a blonde wig. :D

5. Oerba Yun Fang [Final Fantasy XIII]

This, is TOTALLY out of my league. But since Anthea and Nurul wants to do FF13, I'll joing them as Fang. ONLY if they do it. In a group. Or no. Don't get me wrong, Fang is really awesome, and that spear omg, I must have it! It can turn into a three section spear, and it's even foldable! If I could get that, I'll die. :D Oh, and the hair will be really hard to do. It's not long, not short, not thick. It's black, kinda red, but not. It's wavy, and she has little braids in them. SRSLY. And she's darn tall! One thing I'll look forward to if I do her, will be her Australian accent. :D But yeah, doing her will need a tremendous amount of work, including lots of workout sessions.

6. Izumi Curtis or Olivier Mira Armstrong [Full Metal Alchemist]

Another Anime series I lovelovelove. Nurul's doing Edward Elric for 2011, so I thought of joining her. I really like Olivier, because she's so awesome and kicks ass real hard! It'll be nice to wear the military outfit too. Izumi on the other hand is just as scary as Olivier in terms of their personality. Upside to Izumi is that she's Ed's master, and she's an alchemist! Meaning I'll get to clap my hands onto the ground for a reason. :D Izumi's outfit is pretty plain though, and those microbraids, ZOMG. So yeah, it's between both characters, if I want to join Nurul for FMA. :3

7. Klavier Gavin [Ace Attorney]

Ohhh hawtness~ One, Klavier's a prosecutor. Two, Klavier's a rockstar. Three, Klavier has blonde hair and he's tan. Four, Klavier's a dood. Mmmm! Once again, it's Ace Attorney, and I picked him because he's one of my favourite characters, plus he will be really fun to cosplay, with the air guitar and ACHTUNG! And Nurul's Ema, so yeah. xD

8. Kay Faraday [Ace Attorney Investigations]
Just a maybe. Kay is so adorable! She's kinda like me, noisy, enthusiastic, expressive... And Ace Attorney rocks socks.  If someone does Miles Edgeworth, Kay will definitely go higher on my list. But that hair... it's hax. D:

9. Golden Sun

This one I just thought of yesterday. You know how I've been wanting to cosplay less popular series that I really love? Golden Sun is one of them! It's one of the best GBA games, and many people love the game (just not many people I know), but there's only a very very small handful of them who cosplays Golden Sun. The only ones I found with pictures are on Curecos, and even then, there were only 3 pictures. It's that sad. ;__; Golden Sun is an awesome RPG, and it's coming out with its third instalment the end of the year! I would really love to cosplay Golden Sun, but this one I would really need a group... Even for fans, it'll take awhile to recognize a Golden Sun cosplay, because it's damn rare. This cosplay is on my wishlist!

A lot eh? 8D But yeah, it's just all pending. If you're interested to do any of these series, let me know! xD And if you have any suggestions of guys for me to crossplay, let me know too. So yeah, I'll add more if it crosses my mind, haha.

Did Anyone Mention?

(First of all, I finished this post on Sunday night, but internet was being evil since that night till Tuesday night, so I'm only posting this up now. :X)

Trust me for the umpteenth time that I'm back to blogging, but to find me procrastinating as usual! Hey, didn't they mention that I'm a LVL 999? :D

Before I rewind and talk to you about stuff I did the pass few months, or about TDC + TDC Reunion(which I told myself to blog about it right after reunion), or about Koperasi Camp and everything else in between, I'll blog about this weekend! It's fresh in my mind and I must must get it out!

Saturday, I had a lot of things I wanted to do:
  1. Taekwondo class 7.30-9.30am (which I have already skipped for so so many times D:)
  2. TDC12 Post Mortem 9.00am-12.00pm
  3. Fourian Fair 8.00am-4.00pm
  4. Jeremy's Farewell Party 6.00-11.00pm.
I had to prepare some documents before my meeting, which means I need to be at the temple by at least 8.30am, which means I had to leave home by 8.00am, which means I can't make it for Taekwondo. ;__;

It was a pretty sweet post mortem, and I realized how much everyone has grown, me included. Although there's still so so soooo much space for improvement in me, namely my epic procrastination. It was pretty late when we ended (we had Domino's and KFC!), so I was debating whether I should go to USJ4's canteen day. The main reason being I already have a RM20 coupon on my hand (Jasmine made me buy it! D:). In the end, I decided to head on home because getting transport back from USJ4 would be super hard. So "whatever lah, eat my RM20 as dana."

Got back home, Facebook-ed, then started running around the house looking for some decent pyjamas to wear. You see, our dear kalyana mitra, Jeremy Kuan is leaving for Australia, so he's having a farewell party. And guess what's the theme? PYJAMAS! I dug out the pyjama pants I sewed last year (but haven't worn to sleep) and scratched my head looking for a proper shirt to go with it. Of course you're asked to wear your pyjamas, but wearing huge T-shirts make me look weird. D: At one point, I wanted to throw on what I always wear to sleep - my nightgown.

THANK BUDDHA I DIDN'T. Sat my brother's car to SS19 (did anyone mentioned how huge the neighbourhood is?) and hopped into the Kuan Residence. Jem and I were the only ones in old school, stripped pyjama pants. D: Everyone else was in their so called I-sleep-with-this-at-night pyjamas.

I -- we had fun anyways :D

Oh - which reminds me - have I mentioned about my cow yet?

Aida and the cow! (which is in black and white for the uninformed)

For those who went to TDC and Koperasi Camp, you must've seen this. :D It has been called a zebra-cow and a snake on numerous occasions (it's a cow darn it!), and can turn into a flying cow in seconds! (it has velcro!) For the rest who haven't met it, or have not had the luxury of knowing its name, its called Calcium Oxide! Short form, Cal-Ox! (get the pun?) This was another genius name given by the same person who came up with "Gula Melaka" (thank you Debbieee). Who wants to guess why it's called Calcium Oxide? :D

...no ideas yet? Lemme help you. What's the chemical formula of Calcium Oxide?
[[ CaO ]]

If you get the joke, welcome to the Lame Club. :D

Another funny thing during the farewell was that me and Ai Vee made a huge discovery. You see, Jesmine Kuan was seeing someone. With the technology of the internet and Facebook, Ai Vee realized that the guy in question was a "mutual friend". Hearing the oh-so familiar name ("The name something like 'Yun Sem'"), I spazzed.
"OMG, LEE YUN SHENG IS ITTTT. OMGOMG SRSLY ISN'T HE LIVING IN USJ20-SOMETHING NEAR PUTRA HEIGHTS."
We totally spazzed! How small can the world Subang Jaya be? I have a locker of memories from my primary school days I treasure a lot. And a part of that primary school experience was sitting the bus for 6 years. We used to play hide-and-seek on the bus, and we hop when the bus goes over the bumps (hard to explain, but it's fun!), and stopped the bus to buy pisang goreng or take a walk round the petrol station kiosk, and OH I just remembered - we used to have this session where we tell ghost stories or attempt to make the others cry. GOSH - those were the days. And Yun Sem was one year my senior, and part of the bus gang.

I have this knack at remembering names and faces from super long ago during my childhood times. And the other person just have to forget who am I (Yohann! Grrrr!) or forget my name, like in this case. At least he didn't mistaken my name for "Ai Yee". HAH. Such coincidence eh? :3

I got to hang out with all my other kalyana mitras, share happy moments in a long time with Jeremy, laugh at the sweet video they made of Jeremy (hamster with a mohawk!), and last but not least, I watched Argentina vs. Germany.

Holy cow!  I was planning to get through the World Cup season without watching any of the matches. But circumstances changes things. I had zero idea on what was happening - except that my pants looked like the Argentinian flag, that the guy from the Astro and Maxis ad, Messi was on the field, and that Germany totally busted Argentina, 4-0. I feel sad for them. .__.

All the best to Jeremy Kuan in his life down south!

Sunday, as usual, was supposed to be temple day:
  1. Teen Quest Gathering 10.30am-12.30pm
  2. Gavel Club Meeting 2.30-4.30pm
  3. 1st Unified Taekwondo Championship 7.30am-6.00pm
The last one on the list totally crushed temple day. As with all other Taekwondo Championships, it's a full day affair. It was only Eleena and me, plus Jessica from Subang Utama this time around. Eleena and I only had one match, and so we waited. I'm so soooo happy I have super hip and cool doods who are twice my age as my masters. :D

In a nutshell, we snacked super a lot,
I watched How to Train Your Dragon on Master Neng Keong's iPhone,
Talked super a lot of OWH-EM-GEE nonsense,
Slept super a lot on the canteen table,
Kicked not so many asses.

In the end, I won a Gold medal! Woohoo! I finally I won it through a fight! Double woohoo! :D And then my super cool masters bought us McD!

My lunch! That bit of ketchup was honestly not enough

PHAAAAATS!

Oh yeah! Have I also not mentioned that I took these pictures with my new phone? :D

I dub it the new old-used-to-be-mum's-phone-used-to-be-Dennis'-phone-used-to-be-Felicia's-phone-but-coloured-with-camera-and-music-and-more-canggih-than-my-current-phone phone!

I'm so happy with the new phone! Immediately, I started filling it up with tons of Final Fantasy and Ace Attorney what-nots, and got a new ringtone and message tone that I so so love now. And also the super fitting screen picture! Aaaahhh~

Yup. That was pretty much the weekend and what I needed to get out of my system. :3 Now I can pat myself on the back and congratulate myself on the Gold and the perseverance to finish this blog post!
